Onyfix is a common ingrown toenail treatment that provides patients with a lot of relief.
In your consultation, your Podiatrist will examine and assess the health of your toenail to determine if you can proceed with Onyfix. If there is any bacterial soft tissue infection, your Podiatrist will treat and address it before the Onyfix ingrown toenail treatment.
During your treatment, your podiatrist will prepare and clean the affected nail/s for Onyfix application. The Onyfix composite is then spread over the nail and adjusted so that the shape fits you correctly, then it is cured into place using LED light. Once the composite has hardened, Onyfix will be fixed to the nail.
Onyfix ensures the shape is retained as the nail grows naturally into its correct place. This can take months as toenail growth is a slower process compared to fingernail growth. When your nail is finally grown correctly, your podiatrist will remove the Onyfix composite, allowing the treated nail to continue to grow naturally.
